Important Announcement about Fr. Patrick
As a priest on loan from his Diocese of Enugu, Nigeria, Fr. Patrick Chibuko is helping with the shortage of priests in our country by assisting in the Archdiocese of Boston. We have been blessed by the presence and ministry of Fr. Patrick in our Plainville-Wrentham collaborative for over two years now. Just recently we learned that he is more urgently needed to fill-in for Fr. David O’Leary, who had a health crisis and needed to relinquish his role as Pastor.
Therefore, we sadly announce that Fr. Patrick’s assignment with our parishes of St. Martha and St. Mary is ending suddenly this week so he can become the Administrator (i.e., temporary pastor) of the Concord-Carlisle collaborative of Holy Family and St. Irene parishes. Fr. Patrick has politely declined my request to hold receptions in his honor this weekend, saying he is not comfortable with goodbyes, and that he will be back to visit. He will write to you in a future column, and I will have more to say in the coming weeks, but right now please join me in offering special prayers for him in this time of sudden transition.
