Church QR Codes Have Moved from Pews to Bulletin in both of our parishes. Therefore, if you use your smart phone or other device to follow the readings or make online donations while in church, be sure to take a bulletin on the way into church – you will find the QR code on the inside front cover.
We Were Always Told: “If It Ain’t Broke, Don’t Fix It!” Some are asking why the hymnals at St. Martha are still in racks by the doors but they were moved into the pews at St. Mary. Part of being a collaborative with multiple parish churches includes doing things similarly while respecting the different customs and practicaliites in each parish whenever possible. As we shared earlier, St. Mary does not have enough Hospitality Ministers (ushers and greeters) to help hand things out at all five entrances, while at St. Martha the present system of taking hymnals on the way in has been working very well. We still do not have enough attendance at either parish to justify purchasing hymnals for every pew rack. At St. Mary, this means people may need to reach into another pew to get a hymnal; at St. Martha there are far more racks than hymnals needed, so we are keeping the bookshelf system that works for our present number of worshippers. At both churches, the hospitality volunteers appreciate your putting the hymnals back – on the shelves at St. Martha, or in the rack in front of you at St. Mary. Thank you for your understanding, and keep inviting friends back to church so we can justify buying more hymnals!
